About The Program

The ACT Vulnerable Road User Program is an approved road safety initiative designed to equip learner drivers with the insight and awareness needed to safely share the road with more exposed users. Because pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter riders and motorcyclists lack the protection of a vehicle, they face a significantly higher risk of serious injury or fatality in traffic incidents.

This interactive in class program shifts a learner's focus toward active risk management. By teaching new drivers to look beyond the dashboard, the program helps them anticipate hazards, predict unpredictable behavior and understand the vital role that cooperative, mindful driving plays in keeping Canberra's streets safe for everyone.
