Hazard Perception Test

The Hazard Perception Test is an online test that measures a person's ability to detect and respond to potentially dangerous situations on the road.

Learner drivers must complete a Hazard Perception Test before attempting the Competency 23 test as part of the log-book assessment with a driving instructor, or the one-off test with the ACT Government.

Learner drivers must hold an ACT Learner Licence for at least 3 months before the learner can attempt the Hazard Perception Test.

Fifth Gear Motoring recommends learner drivers use the practice test to check the test is functioning correctly on their device and ensure they understand the requirements before commencing the test. The first attempt of the test is free, but all further attempts will incur a $26 fee that must be paid before the test.
