ACT Safer Driver Course

Delivered in person by our experienced, Fifth Gear Motoring Accredited Driving Instructors, both modules are typically completed on the same day. Module 2 takes place in one of our dual-controlled Mini Coopers to ensure a safe and practical environment. While there is no formal test for this course, students are expected to actively engage in discussions and complete both modules to receive their 20 hours of bonus logbook credit. 

Please note: The default transmission for this course is automatic. Due to student, vehicle, and instructor availability, manual transmission cannot be guaranteed.

To be eligible for this course, participants must ensure the following minimum requirements have been met:

• Hold an ACT learner licence that has been held for a minimum of 3 months.
• Have recorded a minimum of 30 hours in their logbook.
• The driver must have been under 25 years of age at the time the learner licence was issued or last renewed.

Module 2 requires sufficient practical driving experience, particularly around busy roads and town centres. To enable the learner driver to safely demonstrate the skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle, it is important that the student has a substantial amount of supervised driving hours and confidence before attending.

Upon successful completion, a digital certificate will be sent to the email address you provided on your student profile. This certificate can also be accessed via your student profile under your previous bookings. This certificate must be presented to an Access Canberra Service Centre when applying for your provisional licence.
