About

The course educates new drivers of their obligations on road and their safe driving behaviours, which protect vulnerable road users including cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians. The course will discuss risks and risk management methods to keep all road users safe.

The course provides learner drivers with 10 hours towards the required driving hours to obtain an ACT provisional driver licence. However, the course is not compulsory to obtain a provisional driver licence.

Module 1

Location

Duration

Description:

Module one is a self-directed learning exercise that must be completed PRIOR to attending module two. Fifth Gear Motoring will issue course participants with a workbook to complete. Fifth Gear Motoring staff are available to assist course participants to complete the workbook.

Location

Fifth Gear Motoring

Unit 16/169 Newcastle Street
Fyswhick ACT 2609

Duration

2 hours

Description:

Module two is an in-class, face to face exercise where participants are encouraged to discuss vulnerable road users and ways in which all road users can use the road safely together.

This module will be held in the Fifth Gear Motoring training room in Fyshwick. It will be presented by the same Fifth Gear Motoring instructors who provide learner driver lessons.

The discussion will focus on safely sharing the road with cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians. Participants will develop the driving skills, foresight and awareness to equip them to be safe, responsible drivers.
