ACT Learner Driver First Aid Program

From 22 November 2023, Canberrans learning to drive have an opportunity to obtain basic lifesaving first aid skills and claim 5 hours’ credit against their required driving hours, when they do so. 

Eligibility

Drivers must have held their learner licence for at least 3 months to enroll/book one of the approved courses. 

Hours towards logbook

Learner Driver First Aid Programs that are approved as apart of this imitative from the ACT Government will provide 5 hours towards the Learners Logbook.  

Documenting the hours in your logbook

To receive credits for the completion of a course, learner drivers must:

  • record the date they completed the course on the Optional Courses page
  • record the credit hours, name of course provider, certificate number and course completion date on Page V (summary page of their logbook).

Fifth Gear Motoring do not deliver the First Aid Program

There are eight approved courses are available, delivered either online, face-to-face or a combination of both. The time commitment and cost requirements for each course varies depending on the type and depth of content delivered.
